Things to think about:
Facebook knows your name, likes, friends, and does facial recognition.
Instagram has a wealth of information tied to your pictures and the network you built on Instagram.
Put the two together and you have both an awesome photo / social network experience but also a LOT of data aggregated about YOU in one place.
